Founded in 2019 by brothers Jonathon and Joshua Janes, The Meta Groupe Inc. brings together two complementary worlds: the discipline, logistics, and leadership forged over 25+ years of U.S. Army service, and more than a decade at the cutting edge of data analytics.

Build-A-Board
Hardware design for the AI of tomorrow.
The Meta Groupe is building its own server hardware. Build-A-Board is an in-house family of server boards for a purpose-built AI system. The machine our research needs is not a configuration any vendor sells, and assembling it from second-hand parts has meant chassis that never quite fit, backplanes built for someone else's server, and cables in the wrong standard. Rather than keep compromising, we are designing the boards that tie the system together ourselves: from the host board, through power distribution, to the storage backplanes.
The programme is deliberately staged. Every board exposes its interfaces on published standards, so each one can be built, tested, and put into service on its own. The simpler boards come first; the host board follows its own longer track. Every electrical decision is traced to a cited datasheet or specification.
The result will run the neural-network research that is the reason the company needs the machine in the first place. Build-A-Board is the next step in The Meta Groupe's evolution: from writing the software to owning the hardware it runs on.

It was developed exclusively on data cleared for commercial use — licensed or openly licensed — and every source is recorded by license type in our internal data-governance register. That is what stands behind “royalty-friendly”: a documented chain of provenance from source to model.
